Six months after Second Lady of the United States Karen Pence celebrated San Antonio\u2019s Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone<\/a>, she\u2019s back in the Lone Star State highlighting the challenges that military spouses face in securing gainful employment and praising Hiring Our Heroes\u2019 programs to reduce military spouse unemployment rates.<\/p>\n

Pence was the special guest at the Military Spouse Economic Empowerment Zone<\/a> (MSEEZ) Designation Ceremony for the State of Texas, hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation\u2019s Hiring Our Heroes, at the Texas State Capitol in Austin on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI commend the collaboration between Hiring Our Heroes, the state of Texas, and the public, private, and non-profit sectors to develop workforce solutions for military spouses,\u201d Pence said.\u00a0 \u201cMilitary spouses are well-educated, hardworking, flexible, reliable, and loyal. They are the kind of workers we want in the workforce. Employers who hire military spouses benefit from their tremendous talent and breadth of experience.\u201d<\/p>\n

This statewide Texas MSEEZ will continue to build on the success that military spouse employment programs have had in San Antonio and El Paso.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
