Penske is ready to hire, attract, and retain veterans.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cPenske has done a phenomenal job prior to me joining the organization.\u201d \u2013 Sean Wilkins, military recruiting manager at Penske<\/p>\n<h3>2. When Wilkins was hired as Penske&#8217;s military recruiting manager, he asked other military recruitment program managers for their advice.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cOne of my favorite things about this space is how everyone wants to help everybody else. No one is trying to hold on to best practices because ultimately, we all want to help veterans find meaningful careers post-military.\u201d \u2013 Sean Wilkins, military recruiting manager at Penske<\/p>\n<h3>3. Penske is partnering with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hiringourheroes.org\/corporate-fellowship-program-helps-military-couples-transition-together\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fort Hood<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hiringourheroes.org\/one-year-trump-executive-order-military-spouses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Department of Labor<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.troops2transport.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Troops Into Transportation<\/a> to offer a 12-month apprenticeship to transitioning service members.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a great program for new drivers who don\u2019t have the experience, but are looking to build the experience. Military veterans fit that form really well.\u201d \u2013 Sean Wilkins, military recruiting manager at Penske<\/p>\n<h3>4. Wilkins believes that there are just as many misconceptions about civilian employers as there are about service members.<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cWhat do we need to do better as employers to help understand the veteran and what does the veteran need to do to help meet us in the middle?\u201d \u2013 Sean Wilkins, military recruiting manager at Penske<\/p>\n<h3>5.
