{"id":524,"date":"2015-09-03T23:05:03","date_gmt":"2015-09-04T06:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hiringourheroes.org\/fast-track-tool-connects-veterans-with-hottest-jobs\/"},"modified":"2024-07-09T11:25:37","modified_gmt":"2024-07-09T15:25:37","slug":"fast-track-tool-connects-veterans-with-hottest-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hiringourheroes.org\/stories\/fast-track-tool-connects-veterans-with-hottest-jobs\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Fast Track&#8217; Tool Connects Veterans With Hottest Jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1469\" src=\"http:\/\/hiringheroes.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Fast-Track-Launch-Slider_2.png\" alt=\" width=\"800\" height=\"334\" \/>Service members transitioning to the civilian workforce have a new tool to help connect their skills with the nation\u2019s hottest jobs.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation\u2019s\u00a0Hiring Our Heroes\u00a0program has launched the latest version of Fast Track, a digital tool that offers comprehensive guides to the fastest growing industries and job markets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany veterans struggle with their transition because they are uncertain of good civilian job opportunities or how their military skills may be useful for those opportunities,\u201d said Eric Eversole, vice president at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and president of Hiring Our Heroes. \u201cThis tool helps them understand what they learned in the military, what skills or training they still need, and what paths to success in a growing industry look like.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fast Track, located online at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fasttrackforheroes.org\/\">fasttrackforheroes.org<\/a>, features an industry-based heat map with a live feed of job listings provided from the National Labor Exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, there are six \u201ctracks\u201d highlighting opportunities in growing industries including trucking, manufacturing, oil and gas, financial services, insurance, and entertainment and media. All of the tracks are powered by corporate sponsors from those industries. Through FastTrack, service members can match their skills with those industries that are seeking to find talented workers.<\/p>\n<p>Fast Track offers access to more than two million job postings. But just as importantly, it includes information on what a service member might need to do to land his or her dream job.
